It's Brent

London Calling

Posted on June 29, 2008

Just a few more days away before I leave for London to co-teach an all day course titled “Introduction to Platform Independent Information Visualisation Programming”. This will be taught at the IEEE Information Visualization (IV08) conference.

The talk will be covering using Qt and OpenGL to create visualizations to be used across multiple platforms whether it’s Linux, Mac or Windows. The talk has a basis of my current project at my job, where we have created a cross-platform visualization system. Our visualization system allows for multiple linked visualizations, multiple data sets, neural-network enhanced visualizations, full interaction with selection and rotation of 3-dimensional visualizations, custom developed controls and much more. Our talk will be a good bit under the stuff that we do, but will give attendees a good idea of what to do and how to create their own custom visualizations.
